About bank-feed consent
The Consumer Data Right (CDR) gives you a way to authorise the sharing of eligible banking data through Open Banking. Clear.ai Systems Pty Ltd uses Basiq to connect your chosen bank accounts to its bank-feed feature.
Before agreeing, review the consent screen for the organisations involved, the requested data, its purpose and the sharing period. Only connect accounts you are authorised to share. Giving consent is optional, and you can withdraw it later.
What data is shared, and why
Bank feeds import transactions into Clear.ai to help your business prepare bank statements and reconcile payments with its billing records. Depending on your consent and what your bank provides, the data can include:
- Account details, such as account name, type, currency, BSB and account identifiers, to identify and link the correct account.
- Balances and available funds to provide account context.
- Transaction dates, amounts, descriptions and references to import and match bank-statement entries.
Choose the accounts needed for this purpose. Clear.ai also lets you select the starting date for a transaction import. Check the consent screen for the exact data categories and sharing duration before continuing.
Connect and review your accounts
- Sign in to Clear.ai and select the relevant organisation.
- Open your bank statements page and choose Automatic bank feed.
- Continue to Basiq, review the consent information and follow your bank's authorisation steps.
- Return to Clear.ai to review the accounts, link the account you want to import and choose the transaction starting date.
If the option is unavailable, ask your organisation administrator or contact support. For the expiry date or a copy of your consent details, contact us using the email address associated with your Clear.ai account.
Open Clear.aiWithdraw or change your consent
You can ask to withdraw consent at any time. You can also stop your bank from sharing new data:
Contact Clear.ai
Email support@clear.ai with the subject “Withdraw bank feed consent”. Include your organisation, bank name and whether you want to stop one connection or all bank feeds. We may need to verify that you are authorised to manage the connection before acting on your request.
Use your bank's data-sharing controls
For an Open Banking connection, sign in to your bank's app or internet banking and look for data sharing, Open Banking or connected services. Select the relevant sharing arrangement and follow the instructions to stop sharing. Labels vary by bank; contact your bank if you cannot find these controls. This withdraws your bank's authorisation to share data. Contact Clear.ai support to withdraw your consent with us and address data already imported.
To change the accounts or data you share, or to renew an expired consent, contact support for help with the appropriate consent flow. A bank feed cannot receive new bank data through an expired or withdrawn sharing authorisation. Reconnecting may require a new authorisation.
Never send bank passwords, one-time codes or full account numbers by email. An account name or masked identifier is enough to start your request.
Stored data and deletion requests
Clear.ai stores copies of imported account and transaction data, including bank-statement records, to provide the bank-feed and reconciliation features. Stopping future sharing with your bank does not itself delete copies already held by Clear.ai.
The Clear.ai website uses HTTPS, and imported bank records are stored in an encrypted production database. Your organisation's access permissions control which Clear.ai users can work with its banking and billing records.
You can request deletion of imported bank data, or ask what we hold, by emailing privacy@clear.ai. Identify your organisation and the bank connection, and tell us whether you also want to withdraw consent. You do not need to sign in to make a request.
We will review the request with you, including any copies in billing records or backups and any applicable legal retention obligations. Ask us to confirm the deletion outcome, what (if anything) must be retained, why and for how long. Contact us if you need help with data remaining after consent expiry or withdrawal.
Our Privacy Policy explains our broader privacy practices. For questions about retention or de-identification of your CDR data specifically, contact our privacy team rather than assuming that a general customs-record retention period applies to your bank-feed data.
Help, access and complaints
For connection issues or consent changes, contact support@clear.ai. For access, correction, deletion or a privacy complaint, contact privacy@clear.ai. Your account manager can also help you reach the right team.
Explain what happened and the outcome you are seeking. If you cannot access Clear.ai, you can still use either email address. You can also find information about privacy complaints through the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
